No property seller would write on his forehead that he’s fake so, it takes a buyer’s sensitivity and expertise in property purchase to identify one.
Below are warning signs which can help you identify if a property seller is fake or not.
• IF HE’S ASKING OF YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION.
If the property owner is asking your financial information right from the start, be careful and don’t give it out. It is well known that a fake property seller is after your money. Financial details like the amount you have in your bank account, and your bank account details should be kept away from a property seller. Without talking about the property, they will keep asking for money.
• IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO SHOW YOU HIS LICENSE OR COMPANY’S ADDRESS.
Every real estate company or agent has a license and a company’s address. Once he doesn’t want you to know his address or show you his license, you should know that is a red flag.
• IF YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO VIEW THE PROPERTY.
An obvious sign of a fake house seller is someone who won’t show you the property before they expect you to buy it. If you ask the seller to visit the property but they claim it’s not possible and or available for viewing, look out because this might be a fake listing. They may even provide you with an excuse such as being out of town or caught up at work, but don’t be fooled. Most home sellers will do their best to make time for interested buyers so that they can sell their property in a timely manner. Never buy a property you have not seen in person.
Before you shake hand with an agent, keep in mind the tips mentioned above and you will be on the right track right till the end.
